Parent Organizations

It is through the collaborative efforts of the community that we continue to grow as an organization and meet the needs of our students. Please consider joining us in achieving this goal.

Your participation is encouraged and welcomed as we shape our District together.

The Jefferson PTA serves to promote the welfare of the children in the school, at home and in the community, and to enhance the relationship between parents and teachers.

Teacher support is a priority for the PTA, and we encourage you to come to PTA meetings so that you can participate in the discussion of how to best accomplish this goal.

Please join and be a part of an organization whose primary goal is to make Jefferson School and Fox River Academy better for all of our children.

The PTA budget is approved on an annual basis, and copies are available from the PTA officers.

Meeting Dates and Times

PTA meetings are normally held the first Monday of the month unless there is a conflict with another school-wide activity at 6:30 P.M. in the LMC. Watch for more information soon regarding specific dates and meeting times.

Every parent and teacher is invited to attend these meetings and participate in the PTA sponsored activities. Please show your support by becoming a PTA member and volunteering. The cost of membership is only $5.00/person or $10.00 for family. Membership forms are available in the school office.

PTA Meeting Minutes

The PTA is happy to provide the minutes of each meeting for our members and interested parents.

PTA Sponsored Programs & Activities

City Council Delegate
A council delegate at the Appleton PTA Council represents each elementary school PTA in the Appleton Area School District. The goals of the Appleton PTA Council are "to support and inform the local units" on current issues, "develop additional avenues of communication with the school board and the district, be aware of ongoing legislative issues and also make the public more aware of PTA."

Fundraising
School assembly programs, reading incentive awards, classroom activities fees, etc., are the results of the PTA's fundraising efforts. Fundraising enables us to better serve all students. School-wide participation in the fundraiser is encouraged but never required. Last year Jefferson students participated in Knowledge-A-Thon for their major fundraiser.

Reading Incentive Programs

Jefferson School's Reading Incentive Program is a new, voluntary individualized reading incentive program available for all Jefferson students. The Jefferson PTA sponsors this program for the purpose of encouraging independent reading for enjoyment.

Ongoing information will be sent home throughout the school year to encourage your child to participate in these incentives. Our PTA will be coming up with other fun ways to encourage your children to read, so please provide all the encouragement you can at home!
